Unexpected Convo; Unexpected Place

Today I got my hair cut by someone I'd never met before. For simplicity, I'll compartmentalize our convo:
Differences:
He's from Israel; I'm from America.
He has 2 daughters; I have 2 sons.
He's a hairdresser; I'm a pastor.
He believes the Old Testament is the bible; I believe it's part one of the bible.
He believes the Messiah has yet to come; I believe He already came.
He thinks he's not good enough for Heaven; I think he doesn't have to be.
He suggested I read the Torah; I suggested he read John.
Similiarities:
He believes in God; I believe in God.
He has a purpose; I have a purpose.
He had every sin paid for; I had every sin paid for.
He has Jesus ready to carry his burden; I have Jesus ready to carry my burden.

I've thought about this convo all day--analyzing what I said, didn't say &, sadly, didn't know. But my one hope is that in this unexpected convo, we both walked away thinking a little more...about Jesus.

It seems like such an intense conversation to have especially during a hair appointment. I've had a similar one with a christian who is also gay and I also sadly knew exactly what to say. The exact words to get my point and ideas across did not exactly come to mind and it is a conversation that I can't seem to let go either.

Hey anonymous, thx 4 takin the time to share that, man. It's comforting 2 know that in such convos, we aren't alone.

Really cool post Heather. Great perspective afterward... I've had a few like this one and always second guess myself... I know that you told this person exactly what the Holy Spirit wanted you to say.

Way to share Christ's love... proud of you.

there is no one who can walk away from a convo with you and not think a little more about Jesus. you are passionate about sharing Christ's love to the world and it shows in everything you do.

Agree with Ann. That is a great post. A convo that most would avoid at all costs, but I'm sure you faced it head on!! I love learning from you!!
