You know I love quotes! But man, last December, when I read this book by a monk named Brother Lawrence, I was taken aback by its lasting impression. This quote is from a friend of the monk's, who described him:"Though he was indeed a humble man, he never sought the glory of humility. He wanted no one but God to witness what he did, just as the only reward he expected was God Himself."
Gosh, I want to live my life like that. If only...

This quote reminds of an absolutely beautiful song by Misty Edwards, that has a line in it that goes something like this: "gotta do it in secret if you want to be noticed". I'm not doing it much justice, but trust me, she's got some powerful lyrics. Give her a listen and let me know what you think.
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...give a shout to the MONKS! I've been getting into a book lately called, "Longing for God: Seven Paths of Christian Devotion" by Richard J. Foster. Foster digs deep into the old skoolers from the past.
