What Ticks You Off That Shouldn't?

Today, I begin my 7-Day Anger Challenge (visit troygramling.com if you want to join me). So I thought we'd do a 2-parter on anger. Today, let's talk about things that tick us off that shouldn't. If you are an angry person, this should be easy for you. If you are NOT an angry person, you'll enjoy telling on those of us who are. I'll go first by commenting on something that occasionally ticks me off that shouldn't...

slow people: slow drivers, slow customers in a check-out, slow drivers in carline. I get angry w/ slow people and shouldn't because someday, it'll be me.

OK, I didn't know what to put until I just hung up with my peditrician office. It makes me angry when you tell a WHOLE story and the person on the other end just isn't paying attention. Then they ask you how to spell the name and after 5x they finally get it. Uggggg!!!! I smiled and said ok, that's fine, please have the doctor call me tomorrow. Thank you so much. So I guess I "handled" my anger, as for opportunity, being in the dental field, it causes me to focus on the caller I have on the phone so they don't have to experience what I did!!!

For me it's rudeness in general..Just one example happened at FRC this past weekend..Even before Pastor Troy hit the stage on Sat night I was already getting irked by the rudeness of people around us, It started during the worship..ie..the people behind us kept talking over the music..The kid playing with the Iphone next to us {the parents didn't do a thing} and the people that let their kids scream/cry during the service and don't take them out..Distracting everyone from the teaching.. I don't get it..I thought Worship is to prepare us to hear Gods word and sing to Him and not to hold our own conversations, or be playing with phones..So rude & disrespectful..

harsh, rude, inconsiderate ppl guess you can call ‘em unkind; ppl who give me a guilt trip cause i can’t be somewhere or do something for ‘em.

I have a list...but I'll narrow I have to agree with Lynn...those that carry on their own conversations during Worship..which I guess technically for them, it's not. Very distracting!

It is also my pet peeve when children go into the auditorium for service. I have a young one and She goes to her class. Parents don't realize they are shorting their kids by not putting them in class.

I serve on the IT team (pre-school check in) at church during the 7:30 and usually on sundays for a couple of services. I try to encourage the parents to put their kids in the classes for them. It's more beneficial to the kids for one and the parents can also focus on the message instead of trying to quiet their kids and of course to make it easier for Pastor Troy to focus on his message.

Being late makes me angry. Typically I don't have a good sense of time so when I'm running late EVERYTHING happens. I get angry at myself and take it out on everyone expecting them to rush cause I didn't manage my time properly. SO fustrating.

People that make stupid comments about things that for everyone else is obvious. For example, I am at work, in a uniform, with a name tag and an armful of stuffed Tiggers and someone will ask me if I work there... well, duh. I know, it's petty but it makes me sooo mad for no rational reason.

I'm a massage therapist and it irks me when I have an appointment lets say 3:10 and I arrive at 2:50 and the client is in my room waiting before I can "set the mood" put my stuff away and get the music on etc.Ugggg. Why put the person in there? It just makes them uncomfortable and irritates me, but I am still able to do an awesome massage. Many things upset me causeing me to believe I have a short temper when I probably don't: Slow people, stupid questions, people who just don't GET IT. Day three of the 7 day challenge yippee! gina

I get angry when I have to explain something to someone, anyone more than once!! I used to blame my lack of patience, but as I got older I thought it was a lack of tolerence. But then just today I found myself angry because I couldnt figure out how to turn on our new TV Hector purchased for "us" over the weekend. I called him and he had to explain the remote to me several times, hmmmm...I think God is trying to tell me something.

When PT gave this challenge, I was looking forward to an easy week..I was thinking how nice it was to not be an angry person. (apparently, I have a big ego in the anger department..LOL) I prepared myself….thought about how I would react when I run into grumpy neighbors and I was off to a great start! ……Until my condo association told me yesterday that we need new parking passes and you can pick them up anytime Monday through Friday 9-12. Yes, you heard me right people…Monday through Friday 9 A.M. till noon…WHAT? Are they CRAZY? So, basically..no one with a job can get a parking pass. They proceeded to explain that if the new passes are not on our cars, they will be towed. Needless to say, my anger was tested and I lost miserably. Therefore I wake up today…ready to give it another shot! Hopefully I can make it to day seven without another mishap. - Christy
