Did Jesus Pay For My Lungs?

This weekend, as we sang, "Jesus Paid It All," I know God wanted me to understand what "All" really means. When Jesus died on the cross, He died for ALL mankind, but He also died for ALL parts in mankind. With 25 years of bad lungs, I've jokingly & seriously wondered if Jesus got my heart, but the devil got my lungs. Today, I realized that when Jesus died for me, He didn't "leave out" my lungs & He sure as heck didn't hand them over to the devil. The devil doesn't have my lungs; the devil has never had my lungs; and the devil has no right to my lungs. I want to encourage you. YES, YOU! If you have a weakness, but Jesus has your heart, Jesus is in your weakness too. He hasn't removed it cuz He's still doing something through it.

I totally admire your outlook and perspective on this PH. With your lungs? I always find myself asking the question "why", then I ask Him to use His healing powers for you. I believe it will happen because #1: I am asking, and #2: because I believe....

Thanks Heather..Once again you hit the nail on the head....As I listened to P Troy a few times this weekend deliver this message..God was speaking to me loud and clear...I am struggling through a "weakness" called fear in my life and I know He is def doing something through it and preping me for something big...

You have pointed out something that I have never really thought about before - Jesus died for EVERYTHING. So many times I think we Christians believe that Jesus died for our sins, and ONLY our sins. His sacrifice means so much more - He gave us our lives back, every part of it; our health, our financial well-being, our relationships, our families, our kids, everything that we as humans "possess" - He died for it all. How can we NOT praise Him?!

pastor heather, I know I get on here & joke alot, but this post hits home w/me because I have bad lungs as well. Ever since I was a kid, about the only thing I could do was take karate & play baseball & some hockey. Trust me when I say that it was alot harder for me then most other kids, @ that time they all thought that I did not hustle enough ( they did not know the battle inside! )I never looked @ it before in the way that you have pointed out & I am kicking myself now for not knowing this about God sooner! It's funny how alot of churches do not even come close to this type of clarity, really sad if you think about it. I pray that God will heal you're lungs ( & mine as well ). I hope you have a great week. jeff Pensacola, fla.

Sooo true HP! Took me a long time to learn that my weakness is not a "why me?", but rather a life lesson to learn from and to share. Although they have given me confusion at times in my life, those weaknesses have allowed me to share the love and grace of Jesus. If I have brought just one person to Jesus from my weaknesses, then bring 'em on! We are weak but He is strong!! :)

Sorry, but you lost me there. The "all" in Elvina Hall's hymn has nothing to do with lungs or ears. As she explains in the refrain, what she has in mind is the stain of sin that separates each of us from a holy God. "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" (I Jn. 1:7). That is the "all" she is speaking about.

Robert, thank you for taking the time to opine w/ a researched understanding of what the songwriter's lyrics were inspired to say.
