Today, I read & learned there are 3 ways we end up in a pit:1) you slip, fall in & didn't mean to
2) you get thrown in by another
3) you jump in & knew better
Now aren't I lucky? Cuz for me, I've been in the pit for all 3 honkin' reasons. Sometimes my pits have lasted a day; other times, a year. But I wanna tell you something. God's came to my rescue EVERY TIME. People can aide, but GOD cures. People can lift you, but GOD carries you. You in a pit? It's not over. It's only over if you don't let God reach down & lift you out.

It reminds me of the song "Rescue" by Newsong.
"I need You Jesus to come to my rescue
Where else can I go?
There's no other Name by which I am saved
Capture me with grace
I will follow You"
Love it. Thanks for the reminder!
great lyrics. I've never heard that one by Newsong. Thx for sharing, girl
the pit i've spent the longest time in is the one where i've jumped in anyway but knew better...gotta love free will. but in the pit i got the chance to be lifted out and to really experience the love of God. thanks Jesus for saving me, everytime.
Your tweet on this topic got me goin' - I thought you were talking about ARM pits! Well, I'm up to my arm pits in a pit - but I'm happy because God is in there with me.....
Ann - thx for sharing. your joy from getting out is contagious.
Don - what a great perspective. God's got you, bro. It's gonna be OK.
HP, I've been in the pits and didn't even realize it was God who pulled me out so many times. I'm so thankful that he keps coming back. I now know it's all because of Him and I praise and thank Him daily!!!
I think I have done two out of three...I've slipped, and fallen in when I didn't mean to. But even when I realized I was there & knew better, I stayed for a while.
What an amazing feeling when you can look back and literally see the time/situation that God lifted you out though.
