Kindygarten Graduation

My brothers & I never graduated from Kindygarten. When I moved to Florida, that was a brand new concept for me. I mean, I get graduating from highschool & college, after 4 years of killing it with studying & all. But Kindergarten? Graduating because you learned that yellow & blue make green? I just didn't get it. And then a wise man gave me this advice: "But it's an opportunity to make memories." After letting that sink in, it changed my perspective--glad it did. Because now I have captured memories with DJ that will last forever:

Pic #1 - Daddy, DJ and me
Pic #2 - DJ's principal, Mr Hewlett and Kindygarten teacher, Mrs Gory
Pic #3 - our friend & babysitter, Priscilla, and DJ

So sweet!!! I kinda have wondered the same thing about 5th grade, since I went to school where 6th grade was the transition "up". Tonight was our first 5th grade graduation. But yup, you're right, not just memories, but good memories that mom and dad were Present, cheering them on, excited for growth...

I had the pleasure of attending my niece's Kindergarten graduation yesterday. It was fun, the kids were really excited and felt they had accomplished something HUGE! It made me think about mine...like DJ's we wrore caps and gowns (my niece did not) and I have been wanting to pull out the video tape of it now for a couple of days...I do remember it, even though it was many years ago and it was VERY exciting at the time!

I truly believe that we should celebrate as many "little" victories as we can...before we know it, they will be grown. It's good to show that we value these types of accomplishments.

HP, that is great. He looks so proud and handsome. What a celebration, letting him know that all of his hard work was recognized, rewarded and celebrated by his friends and his family. Great pics!!!
