If I play to an audience of One, I'd like to think God is who I walk on the runway for. No?
Since we are just passing through, I guess the world is our runway...
I see some pro's and con's of this statement, but I'm livin' life for an audience of uno.
Love to constantly replay in my mind, what Craig Groeschel said at C3, "Becoming obsessed with what people think about you, is the quickest way to forget what God thinks about you."
Hey anonymous & countrycuban - thx for weighing in. I've heard "life is a highway." Perhaps 4 the more fashion-minded, it's "life is a runway?"
It's just that on a runway, everybody is looking at how "perfect" u r. For me, that's where the reality of this stmt breaks down.
Also kinda on the fence with this one.. I lean towards the thought that on the runway, you are made up,putting on a show, portraying something maybe more than you are. God loves each and every one of us just as we are and I don't think that life needs to be a runway(a show).He loves us on and off the 'runway' Definitely living for Him, but don't think the word would be 'on a runway'..just my thought :/ interesting ?..hhmmm
I agree with what everyone above me said but I'm going to look at it from another point of view...
I like the idea of self-expression and individualism through fashion. I think this quote can also be interpreted as everyday we have the opportunity to express ourselves as we go about our day.
You guys have made some very strong and valid points. Michele and Stacie, great insight!! Thanks for the enlightenment
I use to think so, especially in the 80's..Vogue was my bible..I wouldn't leave the house unless I had the full makeup/hair/clothing thing going on..Now, If I manage to shower and brush my hair and get my clothing somewhat coordinated i'm doing good. I also think as you mature, get married, have children things change, what use to be so important now seems so unimportant.. Clothing is a great thing to hide behind & fashion can create a wonderful illusion..{at least it did for me back then}
fashion has never been my thing so i can't agree with this statement exactly. but the spirit of the quote is true...it's kinda like if you love something (ie fashion) have fun with it (ie the runway) everyday.
Lynn and Ann Marie - and yet two MORE different perspectives on this. Wonderful! Thank you for ur contribution to the convo
