This Was Never Me


Never played a sport, never participated on a team, never knew the agony of defeat or the smell of victory. But DJ has! He's 6 yrs old & has participated on 2 sports teams. Here he is with his basketball team. I'm proud of him. Not cause he's the MVP or anything; simply because he tried & didn't quit.

Go DJ! Winning is fun and losing makes you grow. So no matter what happens at the end it is always good for you.

Great Job DJ!! It's so rewarding as a parent to see our children have passion for something. My hubby and I made our older son play 2 sports per year. His choice. This is the first year (he's 13) in 8 years that he played with heart and FELT victory and FELT defeat. Like Pastor Troy's story about how he didn't just run track, he RAN track. Jake had his first experience and now knows what that means. I, like u HP, never played any sports. Seeing my kids do it makes me wish my parents would have encouraged me to. So rewarding!!! Definately a proud mommy moment!!! Enjoy!

Playing on a team gives you so much - DJ will take these experiences with him through so much.
Can you believe at a tall 5'4" I played basketball??

Aww, great job DJ! That is so awesome. Doesn't matter whether he wins or loses, it's about getting out there and trying.

Reminds me of President Teddy Roosevelt's "Man in the Arena" illustration that he used in a speech one time.

i sure do remember him so widdle.
in the business i am in - i am sooooo happy when i see these little preemies do soooo well.
i cant imagine how the parents must feel when they look back and see how far their lil' babies have come.

Many of life's greatest lessons are learned in little league sports. Keep it up, DJ! And Mom & Dad! The only 2 questions you need ask your child after each game are "did you have fun?" and "did you try your best". Anything beyond that is not very important. :o) ....Then you thank God for keeping them in one piece!
