The Knight Who Lost

Tonight, we went to Medieval Times, a dinner show with knights, horses & lots of action. We sat front row, in the Green Knight seats. For 2 hours we jeered his opponents & cheered for the Green Knight, our soon-to-be hero...or so we thought. In the end, the Green Knight would lose in a dual to the White Prince. DJ was particularly upset by this (even chucking his green crown in the trash). The car ride home stunk cause both boys were bummed. But secretly? I was glad. Life's not always on the winning team, and without me having to say it...the Green Knight said it for me.

Interesting...it's all about perspective.

Heather, so true. It's so important for kids to learn that lesson early. It gets harder later. We so try and protect our kids from emotional hurt which prevents them from growing emotionally. We have to let the fail and witness failure in order for them to handle the pressure of real life later on. Good thing the Green Knight was the "bad guy" here. Have a great time. Kristin

Fun way to teach an important lesson. Sorry the night ended so poorly. Happy for the lesson that was taught!

Oh I hate that the boys bottom lips were out but they are so young they probably shook it of before bath time! They most likely will remember the fun times in Orlando not the disappointing ones. Glad you could get away with them!

Disappointment is a tough pill to swallow, especially when your a kid. Every now and then we all run into the "Green Knight", don't we? Its easy to chuck our crowns, I know Im guilty. What's more challenging is learning that with each disappoint is another opportunity to do it different, try again or change your plan! Good write Heather!!! -Jennifer
