Hurricane Wilma had a big impact on me: it was my first hurricane; Raul was out of town; I had a toddler and an 8 month old; and we were not hurricane-prepared. I have very sour memories of this hurricane, but because of it, I've become one crazy Hurricane-Prayer-Gladiator! For the last 3 years, as soon as they announce hurricane season, I start praying for God's protection over our vulnerable Sunshine State. I can't predict the weather & can't protect the fam from it. But He can, that's why I pray to Him for both.

Smart--to learn from experience!
I remember Wilma, I remember it as being so tired and ready for hurricanes to end. I was part of Katrina and Rita relief and protection. As we were over there with relief efforts we heard the news of Wilma zeroing on our own homes, family and friends. We departed and made it back two days before it hit to secure our homes. then we began relief efforts for ourselves, friends, family and our neighbors. It was a long hurricane season that year and I too pray when the season comes along. I pray for the rain, I pray for things to grow, I pray that when a hurricane does form, that it stays out at sea where the least amount of distruction occurs.
Oh, I pray when hurricane season comes too!
Smilingsal - hey, you have a blog picture, I LOVE IT!
Scott - thank you for sharing your experience, I love the way you pray for the season, and He hears every one of them!
Holly - Right?! Hope we are protected and spared this year! The tornado season has been brutal for the midwest, eh?
